IN PAIN: Billie-Jo, 19, had three clots in her leg
HUNDREDS of young people are dying from blood clots every year, shocking new figures reveal.
Deep vein thrombosis, a condition usually associated with the elderly, overweight and inactive, has claimed more than 1,000 lives among the under-40s in four years.
The Government figures, obtained through a Freedom of Information request, show as many as 3,000 under- 50s have died from clots over the same period.
