CNN – Did Obama Want The Oil Spill? Ex-Fema Director Thinks So

(CNN) — Former FEMA director Michael Brown is not backing off his charge that the Obama administration wants to use the Gulf Coast oil spill as a plot to put an end to offshore drilling.

“They want a crisis like this, so that they can use a crisis like this to shut down offshore and gas drilling,” he said Tuesday night on CNN’s “AC 360°.”

His remarks came a day after he told Fox News’ “Your World with Neil Cavuto” that the oil slick is “exactly what they want, because now he can pander to the environmentalists and say, ‘I’m going to shut it down because it’s too dangerous.’ While Mexico and China and everybody else drills in the Gulf, we’re going to get shut down.”

Pressed by CNN for evidence to back up his claim, Brown pointed to an interview that then-Sen. Barack Obama gave to The San Francisco Chronicle in January 2008. Obama told the Chronicle editorial board that he wanted cap-and-trade legislation to be as strong as possible.

“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted,” Obama told the board, after discussing the importance of figuring out how to use coal without emitting greenhouse gases.

Brown told CNN that he didn’t mean to imply the administration wanted the slick to spread, but he suggested that the White House was exaggerating the ramifications of the spill by claiming the damage would last forever.

“Look, when you have an administration who is leading the country, and their political position is that we want to move away from a carbon-based energy supply to something else, this crisis occurs, the Rahm Emanuel rule No. 1 of never letting a crisis go to waste kicks in, and they have done that,” Brown said.

At the daily White House news briefing on Tuesday, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs slammed Fox’s “very special and unique interview” with Brown, which he said “didn’t appear to be pushed back on real hard.”

Gibbs’ criticism came after Fox News reporter Wendell Goler started to ask a question about critics referring to the spill as Obama’s “Katrina.”

“Can I say this?,” Gibbs interrupted. “You opened both the double doors and, voilà, here I am.”

Goler pointed out that the networks’ reporters and television personalities are not one in the same.

“You should call headquarters, my friend,” Gibbs said. “Ask for somebody who makes the decisions to put people like that — because I’ve got to tell you, Wendell, I’m not entirely sure that a factual answer that I might give to any one of your questions is going to change the notion that your network put out the former FEMA director to make an accusation that the well had been purposely set off in order to change an offshore drilling decision.”

Brown headed FEMA under the Bush administration and resigned in September 2005, two weeks after Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast. His resignation came 10 days after President Bush famously told him, “Brownie, you’re doing a heck of a job.”

Why BP is readying a ’super weapon’ to avert escalating Gulf nightmare

Terrence Aym

In a desperate attempt to stop a huge area of the Gulf ocean floor from possibly rupturing due to subterranean methane gas (leading to a calamity no human has ever seen) BP has ripped a page from science fiction books.

The giant oil company is now quietly preparing to test a small nuclear device in a frenzied rush against time to quell a cascading catastrophe. If successful they will have the capability to detonate a controlled fusion generated pulse.

While the world watches BP’s attempt to contain the oil gusher at the former Deepwater Horizon site, company officials have given the green light on an astounding plan to use what is known as a nuclear EPFCG charge if all else fails.

Sea floor compromised

Reports still indicate that methane is flooding the Gulf waters at a rate one million times more than normal, and the NOAA research vessel, Thomas Jefferson has reported spotting new fissures. [1]

Last week the science ship stunned some reporters with the revelation that the oceanographic team had discovered and measured a rift in the ocean floor miles from the BP wellhead. The rift was reported to be more than 100 feet long and widening. Oil and methane continues to plume from that rift.

Busted by YouTube: Video seen by 2m proves police officer who claimed cyclist ran into him was LYING

A former police officer faces jail after an internet video exposed his bid to prosecute a cycling protester for running into him as a lie.

Patrick Pogan claimed activist Christopher Long steered into him and knocked him down during a demonstration in New York.

But a YouTube video seen by two million people so far has exposed him as a liar.

Government ‘plotted to send UK citizens to Guantánamo’

Ian Cobain guardian.co.uk

Decisions revealed in classified documents on extraordinary rendition

Evidence that the British government plotted to have a number of UK citizens sent from Afghanistan to Guantánamo Bay after the al-Qaida attacks of September 2001 has emerged in previously classified documents handed to lawyers representing victims of extraordinary rendition.

The documents show that Tony Blair’s office intervened to thwart Foreign Office efforts to secure the release of a British Muslim detained in Zambia, with the result that he too was sent unlawfully to the American detention centre on Cuba.

While a number of senior figures in the last Labour government publicly criticised the use of Guantánamo and called for its closure, the documents show that in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 a decision had been taken at the highest level to use it to incarcerate British nationals.

The contents of some documents were made public at the high court today as lawyers for six rendition victims opposed an application by the government to halt their claim for damages temporarily. The government argues that proceedings should be delayed while attempts at mediation are made before a judicial inquiry into the UK’s role in torture and rendition announced last week.

Tim Otty QC, counsel for five of the six men, said proceedings should be allowed to continue because the documents that the government is beginning to disclose shed new light upon the role that the UK authorities played in the men’s mistreatment.

BP Killing Off Horses On Public Land To Get Oil Leases

Wild Horses Being Driven Off Public Lands For Oil Companies

Above Top Secret is reporting that their investigative piece into the killing of Mustangs on public lands to allow BP to receive drilling leases and oil pipeline permits on public lands is being picked up by CNN.

The ATS report investigates the relationship of corruption between BP and the Federal Government, which includes a corrupt culture of sex, drugs and bribes, to side step Federal laws that would otherwise prevent BP from attaining the leases on public lands.

The La Times reports on the issue:

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar’s take on controversial wild horse roundup

The federal Bureau of Land Management’s controversial roundup of approximately 2,500 wild horses in Nevada has been met with protest from outraged animal advocates who argue that the measure is cruel and unnecessary.  Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar explains his position on the mustang dilemma in The Times’ Opinion section…

In the Times’ opinion piece published by Salazar begins by pointing out that wild horses have been under threat from loss of habitat for decades.

Report: Libyan aid ship heading for Egypt

14aidship76639.jpg Bethlehem – Ma’an/Agencies – A Libyan-sponsored ship carrying aid for Palestinians in Gaza began sailing toward Egypt’s Al-Arish port, after reports from Gaza officials that it was still heading for the Strip on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

Earlier Wednesday, The Hope was said to be stalled in international waters. Independent Gaza MP Jamal Al-Khudari said at the time that the ship was “slowly sailing toward Gaza.”

A statement issued by the MP, who also heads the Popular Committee Against the Siege, said the Libyan boat, which was reported as static earlier, was continuing for Gaza “despite being besieged by the Israeli navy, jamming its communication.”

“The ship is only 50 kilometers from the Gaza shore but the Israeli navy is demanding that it travel to any port other than Gaza,” Al-Khudari said, adding that the navy is solely responsible for the lives of those on board.

Earlier, a military source told Ma’an the aid boat, whose captain allegedly changed course for Egypt on Tuesday evening, was stopped in international waters.

“It is 88 km from Egypt and 128 km from Gaza in international waters. We are observing,” an Israeli spokeswoman told the Israeli daily Haaretz. “From what I understand, it is stationary.”

Anti-Zionist laughs in Monty Python’s LIFE OF BRIAN remain censored

Think you know the saga of the deleted scenes from Monty Python’s LIFE OF BRIAN? Not if you trust Wikipedia. The 1979 comedy didn’t just take the mickey out of Jesus and the feuding Palestinian Liberation fronts, it poked good fun at Zionists, as goose-stepping racists led by Eric Idle’s OTTO the NAZIRENE who was determined to promote Jewish racial purity, carve a Lebensraum from the “traditional Jewish areas of Samaria,” displace the Samaritans into internment camps, and plan an anschluss of Jordan to “create a great Jewish state that will last a thousand years.” My, my, my. But the defamed parties had the last laugh. They acquired the studio with the rights to the film, obliterated the offending celluloid, reedited the video release, and have rewritten cinematic history.

Maybe you don’t care what Israel has been doing to the Palestinians. Did you know someone is messing with the legacy of Monty Python? We had the comedy sketches memorized in college. Who could have imagined the originals would be vulnerable to tampering?

I’m not sure this is an overreaction. Monty Python is not Shakespeare, what is. But it’s not Nicholas Sparks either. For a populist phenom it rivals Swift. This is book burning, is what it is. A sinister effacing of creative work. Life of Brian is considered as in contention for Britain’s greatest film comedy, and for your consideration, instead of a director’s cut, we’ve got a censor’s cut.

Here’s the lowdown in brief: three integral scenes of the theatrical release were removed from the video version. The third scene was recut to make up for the absence of the first two. When Criterion released a new copy, the missing sequences were included in the extras as “deleted scenes,” represented by mangled outtakes, from which key lines were cut. An official narrative was fabricated to recount how the sequences had been removed from the original version to improve the flow, the crude outtakes testifying to why they didn’t make the cut.

CNN’s Sanchez: Dead Africans Good for War Against Manufactured Terror

It’s somewhat of a bad joke when Republicans complain about the “liberal bias” at CNN. The propaganda outlet masquerading as a news network owned by the eugenicist Ted Turner is no more “liberal” than Fox News or any other transnational media corporation.

CNN exists to dispense propaganda for the establishment. It has served as an outpost for military personnel from the Fourth Psychological Operations Group based at Fort Bragg, in North Carolina. It is a bright star in the Operation Mockingbird constellation. It has played the false right-left paradigm game for decades.

Thus it comes as no surprise that the teleprompter reader Rick Sanchez would tell us the murder of 76 soccer fans in Uganda is a good thing because it underscores who the enemy is — Muslims radicalized through covert intelligence operations.

Sanchez, of course, did not say anything about these covert intelligence operations. He does not have to. History speaks for itself

Censored Gulf dispersant news: Act of war (Pt II) The art of chemical warfare

EPA, DoD, PetroChem corporations: bed fellows to rid “pests”

Chemical warfare on Americans in the Gulf Coast region and beyond has been planned and researched by the EPA, DoD and petro-chemical companies for decades according to government documents, some cited within this report below.

It is tragically naive to think that the Gulf region aerial pesticide spraying will stop before the mission is complete. The major agency holding the key to halt the genocide, the agency portrayed as the government body protecting the public and environment, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has been collaborating with chemical companies and the Department of Defense (DoD) for decades rather than protecting the public from their kill-off agenda. This collaboration increased during the Bush administration, its fruits finally overtly witnessed in Obama’ Gulf operation.

“From environmentalists and wildlife specialists to fisherman and businessmen along the Gulf Coast the message is the same: BP is not only strangling the news of what is actually occurring in the Gulf of Mexico with the oil disaster but has co-opted key federal regulatory and oversight agencies to advance its agenda and that of its oil partners, including Halliburton, Anadarko, and Transocean,” writes Wayne Madsen now in New Orleans.

BP, Coast Guard, NOAA, FAA, EPA are all engaged in one of the largest cover-ups in U.S. history,  as well-organized and well-prepared to apply as the very pesticides they spray on people of the Deep South.

BP delays new cap test to avoid inconclusive result

HOUSTON (Reuters) – BP Plc said on Wednesday a 24-hour delay in a key pressure test on a cap on its Gulf of Mexico wellhead was needed to reduce risks as it works to stop oil that has been spewing for months into the ocean.

While they waited for BP to start critical integrity tests originally scheduled for Tuesday, investors paused for breath as they watched to see how well the new cap worked to stop oil from leaking out of the burst Macondo well.

Kent Wells, senior vice president of exploration and production at BP, told reporters that scientists delayed the test to make sure it “was absolutely designed to maximize what we would learn from it and minimize any risk under all possible scenarios.”

“This test is so important that the decision was taken to give them another 24 hours to make sure that this was the best possible test procedure we could execute,” said Wells.

BP announced on Tuesday evening it had delayed the procedure after consultations with scientists and engineers from the industry, government and the oil company.

Wells said BP would look at the latest information around midday on Wednesday and decide if any changes are needed for the tests before moving forward.

US ‘world bully’, ‘hated by nations’

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei

The Islamic Revolution Leader says Iran has been at the forefront of resistance against Washington’s hegemony.

Addressing thousands of top commanders as well as the rank and file of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei likened the United States to a ‘bully’ who is running an extortion racket around the world while his situation gets worse day by day.

“Some (countries) pay extortion money to this world bully to keep their businesses safe”, said the Leader.

“Some others are relatively powerful, but are reluctant to confront the US and simply turn into political-military stooges for Washington”, Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.

“However, some stand up to this bullying, and the Islamic Republic (of Iran) has been at the forefront of this resistance”, added the Leader.

Did BP Negotiate Lockerbie Bomber’s Release?

As if BP couldn’t do anything to be hated more, the oil giant is now being investigated by four U.S. senators for possibly negotiating a deal with Libya for the release of Lockerie bomber Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, in exchange for a $900 million offshore drilling deal. Megrahi, who was convicted of killing 270 people—including 189 Americans—in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, was released from prison last year after doctors insisted he only had a few months to live. In 2007, BP and the Libyan government agreed to a $900 million oil-exploration deal, and BP admitted last year to lobbying the British government for Megrahi’s release. Sens. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) wrote a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton requesting an investigation into the deal and whether BP will use “blood money” from the deal to pay for damages incurred by the Gulf spill. “It is shocking to even contemplate that this company is profiting from the release of a terrorist with the blood of 189 Americans on his hands,” Lautenberg wrote.

‘Israel’s Flotilla probe not enough’

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu

Turkey says it will continue to push for an international investigation into Israel’s lethal attack on a Gaza-bound aid convoy which killed nine civilians.

Israeli navy forces attacked the Gaza Freedom Flotilla on May 31, killing nine Turk activists, including a Turkish-American teenager, who were accompanying the civilian aid convoy on its blockade-busting mission.

The Israeli commandos had committed “a crime” and said Turkey wants an international probe, Associated Press quoted Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu as saying on Tuesday.

The remark came after Israel’s internal military inquiry found “operational mistakes” in the bloody incident and charged the army with poor preparation for the takeover of the fleet.

The so-called Eiland committee concluded that flawed intelligence-gathering and planning led to the botched operation.

It also acknowledged “mistakes on the high military levels,” which it, however, downplayed by saying they “were not the result of negligence.”

Davutoglu told reporters that he welcomed the fact that the report acknowledged “mistakes” were made, but emphasized Ankara’s call for an impartial international inquiry into the lethal onslaught.

Threatening World Order: US and Israel Quietly Announce Plans to Reconstitute Their Nuclear Stockpiles

(Image: Lance Page / t r u t h o u t; Adapted: Stephen Train, ShellyS, Kim Klassen)

The world looks like it’s about to become a more dangerous place. A recent report from Israel’s newspaper Haaretz finds that the United States is moving forward with plans to strengthen Israel’s nuclear weapons stockpile. The report, exposed within the last few days, originated from Israel’s Army Radio, which sent along a secret document chronicling the nuclear cooperation between US and Israeli leaders.(1) Israel has not signed the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), meaning that it is not technically violating international rules under the NPT regarding the development and reconstitution of nuclear weapons, despite longstanding efforts of the international community to establish a “nuclear weapons free zone” in the Middle East.

Part of the fear of those advocating nuclear abolition in the Middle East is that the United States will agree to send nuclear materials – extracted from its own civilian nuclear power plants – to Israel, much as it did for India, another country that refuses to sign the NPT.

Israeli Navy surrounds aid vessel

Israeli Navy vessels

The Israeli Navy reportedly blockades a Libyan-chartered aid vessel which has set sail for the blockaded Gaza Strip, issuing threats against the convoy.

“Israeli warships are surrounding and threatening the cargo ship. There is a real threat,” said Yussef Sawan, the executive director of the Tripoli-based Gaddafi International Charity and Development Association, AFP reported.

The organization tasked the seaborne mission on board the Moldova-flagged cargo ship, Amalthea, to break Tel Aviv’s years-long siege of Gaza. The vessel is carrying 12 crewmembers and 2,000 tons of relief supplies from Greece to the impoverished sliver.

Communications with the ship are being jammed, Sawan added, pointing at possible electronic obstructions against the humanitarian effort.

The bid follows the Israeli commandos’ May 31 killing of nine Turks among the Freedom Flotilla, a hundreds-strong aid convoy, which intended to fulfill the same mission. The attack sent shockwaves across the world and gave rise to global calls for an international investigation into the incident.

Tel Aviv, however, subsequently insisted it will not allow any seaborne convoys to reach the strip. “I say very clearly, no ship will arrive in Gaza. We will not permit our sovereignty to be harmed,” Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Army Radio on Sunday. Israel’s Defense Minister Ehud Barak also branded the bid as “unnecessary provocation.”

Why did Tony Blair receive a hero’s welcome in Kosovo? He should have been arrested as a war criminal

UK, July 13, 2010 (Pal Telegraph, by Peter Eyre) – I was shocked to read the following headlines the other day from an Associated Press article: “Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair received a hero’s welcome Friday on a visit to Kosovo from nine boys named after him. “Who in their right mind would name their son after this war criminal”?

Blair was on one of his “Mr Nice Guy” tours in Central Prestina, Kosovo where he was met by a large crowd of Union Flag waving followers and a group of young boys who carry his name.

I get the impression that with the Chilcott enquiry about to get back into full swing and all the PR work in the Middle East and previous areas of conflict he’s trying to impress the people of Europe that he’s the right candidate for the EU Presidency which has been on hold for him for some time.

He was accompanied by his wife Cherie Blair with the backdrop of a huge poster which read “a leader, a friend, a hero”……..I find this very repulsive to say the least and does not portray the true person behind this false façade.

The AP report went on to say: All of Kosovo’s Tony Blairs were born after the 1999 war between ethnic Albanian fighters in Kosovo and Serbian strongman Slobodan Milosevic’s forces. The conflict ended after a NATO air campaign ousted Serbian forces and established a UN protectorate over the territory.
