BP petrol stations shut down by Greenpeace

Author BP petrol stations have come under siege from Greenpeace activists who shut down fuel supplies in protest against the company’s “reckless” pursuit of oil.
Greenpeace said it shut off the flow of petrol at around 50 service stations in central London on Tuesday morning.
The environmentalists claimed to have stopped the fuel supply by flipping safety switches on the forecourts and then removing them to prevent the petrol stations from reopening. They also hoisted signs saying: “Closed. Moving beyond petroleum”.
The protest is an attempt to urge Bob Dudley, who is expected to replace the outgoing BP chief executive Tony Hayward, to move away from “his predecessor’s obsession with high risk, environmentally reckless sources of oil”.
BP has faced fury from environmentalists over its muddled handling of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
At one station in Camden, north London, Greenpeace climbers replaced BP’s logo with a new version showing the green sunflower disappearing into a sea of oil.
The BP logo was similarly defaced at a petrol station in New York recently, when the sunflower sign was daubed with brown paint.
John Sauven, executive director of Greenpeace, said: “The moment has come for BP to move beyond oil. Under Tony Hayward the company went backwards, squeezing the last drops of oil from places like the Gulf of Mexico, the tar sands of Canada and even the fragile Arctic wilderness.
“We’ve shut down all of BP’s stations in London to give the new boss a chance to come up with a better plan. They’re desperate for us to believe they’re going ‘beyond petroleum’. Well now’s the time to prove it.”
A BP spokesman said activists had only managed to close down around a dozen service stations, adding that they would be reopened as soon as it was safe to do so.
He described the stunt as “an irresponsible and childish act which is interfering with safety systems”.
Greenpeace scaled BP’s London headquarters and unfurled a banner saying: “BP: British polluters” in a protest against the oil leak in May.

Experts: Health Hazards in Gulf Warrant Evacuations

When Louisiana residents ask marine toxicologist and community activist Riki Ott what she would do if she lived in the Gulf with children, she tells them she would leave immediately. “It’s that bad. We need to start talking about who’s going to pay for evacuations.”
In 1989, Ott, who lives in Cordova, Alaska, experienced firsthand the devastating effects of the Exxon Valdex oil disaster. For the past two months, she’s been traveling back and forth between Louisiana and Florida to gather information about what’s really happening and share the lessons she learned about long-term illnesses and deaths of cleanup workers and residents. In late May, she began meeting people in the Gulf with symptoms like headaches, dizziness, sore throats, burning eyes, rashes and blisters that are so deep, they’re leaving scars. People are asking, “What’s happening to me?”
She says the culprit is almost two million gallons of Corexit, the dispersant BP is using to break up and hide the oil below the ocean’s surface. “It’s an industrial solvent. It’s a degreaser. It’s chewing up boat engines off-shore. It’s chewing up dive gear on-shore. Of course it’s chewing up people’s skin. The doctors are saying the solvents are making the oil worse.”
In a widely watched YouTube video, from Project Gulf Impact, a project that aims to give Gulf residents a voice, Chris Pincetich, a marine biologist and campaigner with the Sea Turtle Restoration Project, said Coast Guard planes are flying overhead at night spraying Corexit on the water and on land.

Recycling? Why are We Putting up with this GARBAGE!

Don’t you get a kick out of recycling all old rubbish you used to just throw away so that it could be dumped into a hole in the ground called a ‘landfill site’?
Didn’t it give you a sense of achievement that you personally were doing something to clean up the environment and make the world a better place for future generations?
I’m sure we all realise that recycling waste is a good thing to do and that it’s not an unreasonable endeavour that we should all participate in. However, the age old question we should all be asking is; apart from the planet, who gains?
When I took my first load to my local recycling center a few years ago it was free and I thought that was the only way that ordinary people would ever come around to the idea of recycling and so it seemed when on subsequent visits to the center I would see many of my friends and neighbours dutifully putting their unwanted food containers, old washing machines, even unwanted timber and stone into the vast array of recycling bins supplied by the local council for this purpose.
However, it wasn’t long after this, after the people had been habitualised into using the center to get rid of unwanted goods that the first charge came into being. This was to be €2 per visit and seemed a not unreasonable sum for the service being provided and the general public did not appear to be put out by it and carried on recycling as before, washing out their old food containers, washing polystyrene and separating all the rubbish into the various categories as stated by the council.
This has now all changed with new charges set to be introduced in August whereby my own costs will rise from €2 to €7 per visit, a whopping 350% increase in the charge overnight. This of course will simply lead to the age old practice well established prior to the introduction of the recycling center of ‘fly tipping’ or in other words, dumping rubbish at the side of the road. I won’t personally but I do know that a number of people will do so simply because they can no longer afford to recycle.
Boat Crashes Into Oil Well, Creating New Spill in Gulf of Mexico

July 27: Oil and natural gas are seen shooting into the Gulf of Mexico from a damaged well near Bayou St. Dennis, La.
URGENT: Fox News is being told by the Homeland Security director for Jefferson Parish, La., that a new oil leak has sprung up in the Gulf of Mexico after a boat struck an oil well in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
A tugboat or other workboat collided with the well near Bayou St. Dennis, La., shearing off its valve structure and releasing pressurized natural gas and light oil, DHS official Deano Bonano told Fox News.
Cleanup workers are currently booming off the area and the scene at sea has been taken over by federal agents. The U.S. Coast Guard, Jefferson Parish police and fire officials, as well as Vessels of Opportunity boats have all been dispatched to the scene.
Federal officials do not know who owns the well, but a contractor who handles wild wells is also on the way, Bonano said.
Oil is spewing about 20 feet in the air from the severed 4-inch pipe, a contractor who flew over the leak told Fox News. The area has been evacuated and civilian boats are being told not to enter the scene, where “a fair bit of oil” is leaking out, the contractor said.

Israel did 9/11
Figuring out exactly how 9/11 was done is the work of crime investigators or conspiracy hobbyists who will endlessly go on discussing and debating every minuscule and intricate detail of the event to no avail. It doesn’t take a structural engineer to tell you that two 110 story buildings and a 47 story steel skyscraper plummeting to the ground at nearly free-fall speed requires the assistance of explosives. All you need is two eyes that can see and a brain that thinks to come to that sound conclusion. This is why it is of my opinion that more emphasis should be placed on the “who” instead of the “how”. It should be obvious to anyone that discovering ‘who did 9/11′ is infinitely more important than discovering how they did it.
An Uncanny Prediction Comes True
First we start off with an unusual and eerie prediction that was made by a most suspicious individual. This prediction, in unison with the status of the person of who made it, is extremely indicative and foretelling of who planned and executed 9/11.
Isser Harel – Spymaster of the Israeli Intelligence Services. Director of Mossad and Shin Bet from 1952-1963.
In 1979, twenty-one years before September 11, 2001, Isser Harel predicted with uncanny accuracy the events of 9-11 to Michael D. Evans, an American supporter of Zionist extremists of the Jabotinsky sort.
On September 23, 1979, Evans visited Harel at his home in Israel and had dinner with him and Dr. Reuven Hecht, a senior adviser to then prime minister Menachem Begin.
In an editorial entitled “America the Target”, published in the Jerusalem Post of September 30, 2001 Evans — a Khazar Jew masquerading as a Christian — asked Harel about Arab terrorism and if it would come to America. Harel told Evans that Arab terrorists would likely strike the “tallest building in New York City” because it was a “phallic symbol”. The fact that 9/11 was planned by the Mossad through the admittance of Isser Harel is well documented and appears in a book written by Michael Evans. (See Article 7th Paragraph).

The first step in the preparation of the 9/11 attacks was to secure the control of the WTC into private hands. This was crucial to the success of 9/11 because without complete control over this complex there would be no opportunity or possibility of setting explosive charges in place as the coup de gras in bringing the towers to the ground.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the United States and Israel plan to attack two countries in the Middle East as part of a conspiracy to apply pressure on Iran.
“We have precise information that the Americans have devised a plot, according to which they seek to launch a psychological war on Iran,” Ahmadinejad stated in an exclusive interview with Press TV on Monday.
“They plan to attack at least two countries in the region within the next three months,” he added.
He said the US seeks to achieve two main objectives with the scheme.
“First of all, they want to hamper Iran’s progress and development since they are opposed to our growth, and secondly they want to save the Zionist regime because it has reached a dead-end and the Zionists believe they can be saved through a military confrontation,” Ahmadinejad explained.
He also advised US President Barack Obama not to follow the policies of George W. Bush.
In addition, he warned Russian officials to avoid playing into the hands of Washington because that would go against their national interests.
Commenting on the nuclear issue, Ahmadinejad said Iran will resume nuclear talks with the West in September, adding that Iran wants Turkey and Brazil to participate in the negotiations.

1000 Venezuelan troops sent to border
About 1,000 Venezuelan National Guard soldiers arrived in the border region with Colombia over the weekend.
Venezuela has beefed up its troop presence along the border with Colombia amid heightened tension between the two South American nations.
Caracas has sent about one thousand troops to the border, citing the threat of an armed conflict with Bogota.
“We have a reinforcement of 980 to 1,000 troops for the protection of the border, but there are no unusual operations; we are staying on alert,” Reuters quoted Franklin Marquez, a regional commander for the Venezuelan National Guard, as saying on Monday.
On Saturday, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said, “The possibility of armed aggression by Colombia is higher than it has been in a century.”
Venezuela broke off diplomatic ties with Colombia on July 22 after Bogota accused Caracas of providing bases for Colombian rebels.
Chavez says the allegation is an excuse for Colombia to launch a US-backed invasion of Venezuela and has threatened to cut off oil supplies to the US if that happens.

US and Colombia plan to attack Venezuela
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez denounced this Saturday US plans to attack his country and overthrow his government. During a ceremony celebrating the 227th birthday of Independence hero Simon Bolivar, Chavez read from a secret memo he had been sent from an unnamed source inside the United States.
“Old friend, I haven’t seen you in years. As I said to you in my three prior letters, the idea remains the generation of a conflict on your western border”, read Chavez from the secret missive.
“The latest events confirm all, or almost all, of what those here discussed as well as other information that I have obtained from above”, the letter continued.
“The preparation phase in the international community, with the help of Colombia, is in plain execution”, manifested the text, referring to last Thursday’s session in the Organization of American States (OAS), during which the Colombia government accused Venezuela of harboring “terrorists” and “terrorist training camps” and gave the Chavez government a “30-day ultimatum” to allow for international intervention.
The letter continued with more details, “I told you before that the events wouldn’t begin before the 26th, but for some reason they have moved forward several actions that were supposed to be executed afterward”.
“In the United States, the execution phase is accelerating, together with a contention force, as they call it, towards Costa Rica with the pretext of fighting drug trafficking”.
On July 1, the Costan Rican government authorized 46 US war ships and 7,000 marines into their maritime and land territory.
The true objective of this military mobilization, said the letter, is to “support military operations” against Venezuela.
ASSASSINATION AND OVERTHROW
“There is an agreement between Colombia and the US with two objectives: one is Mauricio and the other is the overthrow of the government”, revealed the document. President Chavez explained that “Mauricio” is a pseudynom used in these communications.
“The military operation is going to happen”, warned the text, “and those from the north will do it, but not directly in Caracas”.
“They will hunt ‘Mauricio’ down outside Caracas, this is very important, I repeat, this is very important”.
President Chavez revealed that he had received similar letters from the same source alerting him to dangerous threats. He received one right before the capture of more than 100 Colombian paramilitaries in the outskirts of Caracas that were part of an assassination plan against the Venezuelan head of state, and another in 2002, just days before the coup d’etat that briefly outsted him from power. “The letter warned of snipers and the coup”, explained Chavez, “and it was right, the information was true, but we were unable to act to prevent it”.
US vessel to break Gaza siege

A pro-Palestinian American group has reportedly initiated a humanitarian campaign to sail an aid vessel to the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip.
The “US Boat to Gaza” has begun attracting funds for the purchase of the vessel, Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post wrote on Monday.
The vessel, which could carry 40 to 60 crewmembers, is expected to depart in autumn with the ultimate aim of challenging the four-year-long Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli-imposed restrictions have deprived the 1.5-million Palestinian residents of the impoverished coastal sliver of food, fuel and other necessities.
“…together we will contribute to the great effort to end the blockade of Gaza and the illegal occupation of Palestine”, the organizers have said on their website.
The boat is reportedly to be named as “The Audacity of Hope,” synonymous with President Barack Obama’s popular book.
A friend of the president and the director of the Middle East Institute at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, Professor Rashid Khalidi, is reportedly advocating the effort.
“If the name is a problem for the administration, it can simply insist publicly that Israel lift the siege: end of problem, end of embarrassment,” Khalidi said.
“That of course would require it to respond to the systematic mendacity of those in Congress and elsewhere who support the siege, and indeed whatever else the Israeli government does.”
