Study: Politicians share personality traits with serial killers

Andrew Malcolm – LA Times blogs June 15, 2011

Using his law enforcement experience and data drawn from the FBI’s behavioral analysis unit, Jim Kouri has collected a series of personality traits common to a couple of professions.

Kouri, who’s a vice president of the National Assn. of Chiefs of Police, has assembled traits such as superficial charm, an exaggerated sense of self-worth, glibness, lying, lack of remorse and manipulation of others.

These traits, Kouri points out in his analysis, are common to psychopathic serial killers.

But – and here’s the part that may spark some controversy and defensive discussion – these traits are also common to American politicians. (Maybe you already suspected.)

Yup. Violent homicide aside, our elected officials often show many of the exact same character traits as criminal nut-jobs, who run from police but not for office.

Kouri notes that these criminals are psychologically capable of committing their dirty deeds free of any concern for social, moral or legal consequences and with absolutely no remorse.

Bill Bard says:

More evidence that politicians on the whole are psychopaths.

    Beware the Psychopath, My Son.

Civilization, as we know it, is largely the creation of psychopaths. All civilizations, our own included, have been built on slavery and mass murder. Psychopaths have played a disproportionate role in the development of civilization, because they are hard-wired to lie, kill, cheat, steal, torture, manipulate, and generally inflict great suffering on other humans without feeling any remorse, in order to establish their own sense of security through domination.
Psychopaths lack a sense of remorse or empathy with others. They can be extremely charming and are experts at using talk to charm and hypnotize their prey. They are also irresponsible. Nothing is ever their fault; someone else or the world at large is always to blame for all of their problems or their mistakes.
During the past fifty years, psychopaths have gained almost absolute control of all the branches of government. You can notice this if you observe carefully that no matter what illegal thing a modern politician does, no one will really take him to task. All of the so called scandals that have come up, any one of which would have taken down an authentic administration, are just farces played out for the public, to distract them, to make them think that the democracy is still working.

Violent homicide aside?????I always thought they should have someone standing near by, with a straight jacket, and a syringe full of thorazine. so when a politician is wonderful, and seemingly moral, then stands up and says, “bomb em back to the stone age”., or Gadaffi MUST be assassinated in cold blood”, or, if your not with us, your against us,, they can run up and immediately bag em, and drag them off to the rightfull place, the mental institution. So they can,t harm others, ever again. These people should not be walking around, allowed to make any decisions themselves. Is the man who sends others to unjust illegal war, is he not responsible of every loss of life, and injury incurred, on all sides. No this divide and conquer disconnect t,the slaughter of humans by leaders, with the bravery of being out of range, is just as psychopathic, as the most abominable serial killer. It is because of politician,s like these, running things, that causes society to churn out psychopathic madmen, in the first place.War is insanity, when war happens, all sides have failed humanity, the rule of law, and the social order. All who call to arms, for illegal wars, are a failure intellectually, and have completely lost the way, and so lost as they are, so lost becomes the world.Love Always, is to know peace, and prosperity, for the betterment of all, and ALL is entitled to an equal measure.War is not worthy of one tear, from a child,s eye.Peace Love Always…MAX
